How to Edit Service Page Content in 3local
Before beginning, ensure:
- You are logged into your 3local dashboard.
- Your service pages have been generated (either manually or via AI).
- You are familiar with the services and locations you’re editing.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Access the Service Pages
- From the 3local dashboard, you can:
- Edit services directly via the main dashboard, or
- Click “My Services” in the left-hand menu.
2. Preview and Choose a Service to Edit
- Browse the list of services.
- Use the “Preview” button to view what the AI-generated content looks like.
- Once you've chosen a page to update, click “Edit” on the corresponding service.
3. Edit Service Page Settings
- The Edit page opens with basic fields:
- Service Name
- Menu Item Text
- URL Slug
- If these look good, proceed to Location Page Content by clicking the appropriate tab at the top.
4. Edit Metadata and Main Content
- In the Location Page Content tab, you’ll see:
- Meta Title
- Meta Description
- Main Page Content
These fields are pre-filled by AI but can be customised.
Use of Shortcodes:
- Shortcodes are used to dynamically populate:
- Location names
- Service names
- Contact info
To insert shortcodes easily:
- Click the shortcode menu provided above the editor.
- Clicking a shortcode will automatically insert it into the content field.
⚠️ Ensure your content retains the correct shortcodes to preserve dynamic location-based customisation.
5. Review Content and Save
- Scroll through the full content section, including embedded elements like the map at the bottom.
- If you're happy with the layout and messaging:
- Click “Save and Back.”
6. Preview the Page
- Back on the services dashboard, click “Preview” again.
- Remember: this preview is not yet live. It simply shows the draft.
- Click any of the active location links to check how content renders per location (including map, links, and calls-to-action).
7. Repeat for Other Services
- Return to the My Services page.
- Repeat the above process for each additional service you'd like to customise.
